Let us know where you will be coming from and we'll help pick a meeting place to save you some driving time. For larger groups, we may be able to arrange door-to-door transportation services to and from the hotel/motel/B&B where you might be staying. Wouldn't that be convenient!
Highlands is a resort area at an elevation of 4,118 feet where you'll find lots of accommodation options, fine dining, and great hiking available with cool summertime temperatures. We depart from Highlands at 9:30 AM and again at 12:30 PM. We'll have you back at 2:30 PM or 5:30 PM. (6:30 PM for the High Adventure Tour)
Cashiers is smaller but more convenient for guests staying in Brevard, Lake Toxaway or the Fairfield/Sapphire Resorts and only 20 minutes from Highlands. Departure times from Cashiers are 9:50 AM and 12:50 PM with return at 2:10 PM or 5:10 PM. (6:10 PM for the High Adventure Tour)
Cullowhee is the home of Western Carolina University and has several chain hotels available. It's closer to some other interesting places like the Cherokee Indian Reservation and casino, rafting outfitters, and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Pick-up times from Cullowhee are 10:15 AM and 1:15 PM with return at 1:45 PM or 4:45 PM. (5:45 PM for the High Adventure Tour)
When you make a reservation, we can give you more specific directions to the pick-up points. Allow some extra time for travel as our little mountain roads will slow you down. Chattahoochee National Forest Tours December 16th thru March 31st
We can meet in Highlands, NC or in Dillard or Clayton, GA.
We plan on only one daily tour, since the weather is colder and daylight hours are shorter, departing from Highlands at 10:30 AM, Dillard at 10:50 AM, or Clayton at 11:10 AM. On the map, you'll see Clayton, GA south of Franklin, NC, just across the state line on US 23/441.
